Map Skills Worksheet Generator (Compass Rose, Map Key & Grid Maps)

Print free map skills worksheets for ages 6–10. Every sheet draws a new made-up town on a lettered grid — roads, a river and bridge, a park and up to 14 places — with a map key, a compass rose and a scale bar. Ask about the key, north / south / east / west (or NE, NW, SE, SW), and grid squares like C4, or print a blank make-your-own map or a Me on the Map page.

Start 1st graders on the map key and an 8 × 8 grid; add cardinal directions next, then grid squares and NE / NW / SE / SW on the 10 × 10 map for 3rd–4th grade. Every map is a made-up town.
