Reading Scales Worksheet Generator (Thermometers, Measuring Cups & Weighing Scales)

Measurement practice for Grades 1–4. Kids read thermometers, measuring cups and beakers, weighing scale dials and number-line scales where only the big marks are labelled, or show a given amount by coloring the liquid or drawing the needle. Choose what the small marks count by (1s, 2s, 5s, 10s or 100s), US customary or metric units, and print with an answer key.

Only the big marks are labelled, so kids have to work out what each small mark is worth. Start with scales that count by 1s or 10s, then try 2s and 5s. Three or four per page prints page-tall thermometers and cylinders with widely spaced marks. Scales that count by 100s are in milliliters and grams.
